Trigger-Happy Police Inspector Detained For Supposedly Murdering Bystanders In Taraba

A police inspector has been detained by the Taraba State Police Command on suspicion of murder.

On Monday, April 3, 2023, at approximately 4 p.m. in Sibre village, Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of the state, the trigger-happy policeman allegedly shot and killed his victim.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Usman, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, April 4, Yusuf A. The inspector has been detained after Suleiman ordered his arrest.

The PPRO reported that “the Command received information that a police inspector who was on routine duty at a checkpoint in Sibre village outside of Jalingo used his rifle and shot a man who was passing by the checkpoint.”.

The PPRO stated that the command is working around the clock to determine the motivation behind the shooting, after which the offender will be charged in court. The PPRO also noted that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba Usman, has directed that police officers who wrongfully use arms on innocent citizens should be forced to face the wrath of the law.
