The FBI refused Jeffrey Guterman’s request for information about Tinubu’s drug trafficking situation

The FBI said no to a request by Jeffrey Guterman, a former American mental health counsellor, to give him a file about Nigeria’s next president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Guterman shared on Twitter that the FBI refused to say if they had files on other people, because it would be a violation of their privacy.

Recall Guterman, who really likes the person running for president for the Labour Party named Peter Obi, asked for papers about Tinubu giving up $460,000 in America because of drug selling.

The FBI said they couldn’t help him because he didn’t follow their rules.

Guterman said something on Twitter.
Here is the letter I got from the FBI about the information I asked for about Bola Tinubu. I used the Freedom of Information Act to make the request.

The FBI said no to my request because they don’t tell people if they have files on other people to keep their privacy safe.

I realized that I called Tinubu by his full name online, but the FBI referred to him by his last name and first two names in their letter. How can the FBI find out Ahmed’s name if I didn’t mention it? Everyone knows that the FBI has a file on Tinubu because he had to give up $460,000 to the US.

The letter says that I got their reply in the postal mail because my online submission did not follow their rules. The letter says I can do three things: (1) ask questions by email or phone, (2) appeal their decision within 90 days, or (3) try to solve the problem by email.
