Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, has maintained that Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Holding, never thought that squeezing costs to increase profits was a good idea.

In response to the unexpected deaths of Wigwe, his wife, kid, and other people in a helicopter crash in California, USA, he made this statement.

In a statement released on Sunday, Senator Akpabio’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, said that Wigwe’s passing was a significant loss for both Nigeria and the country’s banking and finance sector.

“I received with shock the news of Wigwe and some of his family members passing away in a helicopter crash in the USA,” the message partially states. He was a guy of integrity who never thought that taking short cuts could lead to success in the corporate world.

“I offer our condolences to the Wigwe family, the Board and Management of Access Bank, the Governor of Rivers State, and the President on behalf of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Akpabio prayed for the departed people’s souls to rest in peace.
