The Kogi Governorship Election was scheduled for November 11, however the All Progressives Congress (APC) has halted its campaign.

Ms. Khadijat Yahaya, a party member, was killed in an attack by unknown assailants, prompting the campaign to be put on hold out of respect for her family and friends.

This was announced on Tuesday by Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, spokesman for the State Campaign Council.

According to reports, Khadijat was killed on September 29 in Kotonkarfe during a fight between members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the opposition All People’s Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Alhaji Usman Ododo, the APC governorship candidate in the state, paid a visit to the deceased woman’s family in Kotonkarfe to express his condolences.

Ododo was shocked by her death and begged for her soul to rest in peace.
