LP Responds to Atiku’s Call to Fight Tinubu Over the Certificate Scandal

The Labour Party (LP) has accepted Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, to join him in seeking “justice” in the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s certificate.

You may recall that Atiku asked Chicago State University to make President Tinubu’s degree public.

When the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) expressed doubt about the authenticity of the certificate Tinubu gave, the ex-vice president combed over the documents to ensure their veracity.

During a news conference on Thursday, after the certificate was made public, Atiku invited Peter Obi, the candidate for the Liberal Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), to join him in seeking “justice” in the case.

Responding in a message on Thursday night via its X handle, the Labour Party argued that its candidate is now focused on regaining his mandate before the Supreme Court and will not stop until Nigeria gets true leadership.

There shall be a party, and all who are interested in the pursuit of justice are thus invited to the party.

It says in the release:

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, is currently at the Supreme Court fighting to recover his stolen mandate.

To establish a just nation where justice is the watchword, he has been in the forefront of the movement, and he will not rest until Nigeria has the leadership it deserves.

“Obi has spoken on the importance of leaders setting an example by leading exemplary lives on multiple occasions. He has accomplished this by making his qualifications easily accessible online. Putting men of honor and honesty in charge of Nigeria’s government will improve the country.
