EPL: Souness blames Man Utd star, saying he’s clumsy and gives fouls away

Graeme Souness, a legend of Liverpool, has criticized Casemiro, a midfielder for Manchester United, for his “clumsy” style of play after the Red Devils defeated Luton Town 2-1 in the Premier League this past weekend.

According to Souness, the Brazilian provides the opposition easy fouls.

Remember that Casemiro was substituted off the field at halftime of Man United’s victory over Luton Town due to a yellow card he received for a foul on Amari’i Bell?

A lunge at Luton midfielder Ross Barkley ensued, but no one was hurt.

This is not a novel concept. He played at Real Madrid in this manner. According to Souness on talkSPORT, “He was known for professional fouls, stopping breakaways, committing a foul, and maybe taking a card for the cause because of a threatening situation.”

“You can be scheduled for numerous events, but he doesn’t advertise it. He gives away fouls. He perceives danger, occasionally moving slowly and awkwardly.

In 2022, Casemiro—31—joined Man United from Real Madrid, the reigning champions of La Liga in Spain.
