A Nigerian man on a wanted list has been arrested by police in Sierra Leone

The arrest of one Benjamin Nnanyereugo on charges of murdering his girlfriend has been verified by the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police, Benjamin Hundeyin.

Hundeyin told Punch that the Nigeria Police had confirmed his arrest of Nnanyereugo.

The Nigerian government has requested his extradition after he was arrested in Sierra Leone.

On October 11th, one Benjamin Nnanyereugo was listed as a person of interest in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion, by the Lagos State Police Command.

Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin released a statement on Tuesday indicating that Nnanyereugo was under suspicion for the murder of a 21-year-old woman on July 13, 2023, in his residence in the Oral Estate neighborhood of the Ajah region of the state.

Part of the statement went like this:

All other means of apprehending him have been exhausted, and he is now officially considered wanted.

Suspect is a 26-year-old male from Abia State who is at about 5 feet, 9 inches tall. His dark skin and expressive voice complement his command of English, Igbo, and pidgin English.
