2023 African Partners Award for African Students at University of Glasgow.

The University of Glasgow is offering up to 15 African Partners Award for International students, alumni or staff at one of the University partners in Africa, starting a 1 year programme, in any discipline for academic session 2023/24.

The university was originally located in the city’s High Street; since 1870, its main campus has been at Gilmorehill in the City’s West End. Additionally, a number of university buildings are located elsewhere, such as the Veterinary School in Bearsden, and the Crichton Campus in Dumfries.

High educational standards, high entry standards (4th highest in the UK) and a strong international research reputation have made the university a competitive destination for students worldwide. Glasgow places within the world’s Top 100 universities. More specifically, the University of Glasgow ranked 81st and 82nd globally in the 2023 QS World University Ranking and 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings respectively, as well as placing top 15 nationally in domestic rankings. According to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, Glasgow was ranked joint 13th in the UK for the quality of its research (GPA), an improvement of 11 positions from the previous exercise. The university was awarded the “2020 THE University of the Year” in recognition of its contribution to reparative justice.

Eligibility Criteria For The African Partners Award for African Students: 

To be eligible, application must:

  • Demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to a UK 1st Class Honours;
  • Hold an offer of a place for a 1 year postgraduate taught Masters programme for September 2023;
  • Have International fee status;
  • Be a student or member of staff at one of the University partners in Africa.
