Kwamanda said the North West Zone party would not welcome Kwankwaso and would withdraw its support for Tinubu if Kwankwaso was given a position in his government.

A Kano-based All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Abdulmajid Kwamanda, has urged President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu not to include New Nigeria Peoples Party presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso in his cabinet.

He appealed after the two politicians reportedly met.

On Thursday, May 18, Kwamanda told reporters in Kano that the North West Zone party would not welcome Kwankwaso and would withdraw its support for Tinubu if Kwankwaso was given a position in his government.

He also warned that even the president-elect could not set the party on fire if Kwankwaso was appointed to his cabinet. he said;
“We in the Northwest do not welcome Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to our APC party. We do not accept the idea that Bola Tinubu will meet him even as a messenger in our dear company.

“If Tinubu ignores our outrage and appoints Kwankwaso, we will destroy the entire APC in the north and withdraw our support for him.

“If we set the party on fire, even Tinubu as president cannot put out that fire. We are in the north and the people are our people. “We put all our effort, integrity and dignity in the North to mobilize people to vote for Tinubu. You refused to vote for a fellow northerner just to win in the region and now we come to support our main opposition.” We will not accept that.

“We assure Tinubu that if he chooses to ignore our appeal, we will turn our backs on him. We are not welcoming Kwankwaso into our group or giving him dates.
