A judge named Justice Iniekinimi Abraham Uzaka from Bayelsa State High Court in Yenagoa delayed a court case until June 14th.

The case is about a man named Collins Opumie who was supposedly held in a secret cell by the DSS for two years without permission. Collins Opumie is an activist who fights for the rights of Ijaw people.

Justice Uzaka told Opumie’s lawyer, Ebipreye Sese, to fix a mistake in the address given to the first group of people being sued, as required by the court’s rules.

After a court hearing, Ebipreye Sese spoke to reporters. He said that he filed a lawsuit against Nigerian Agip Oil Company, the Department of State Security, and the Nigeria Police for arresting and detaining him illegally. Even though the case is just starting, he plans to ask for a speedy trial at the next hearing.

Sese said that True man Opumie’s case against being arrested and held by the DSS was fair. The NOAC security department wrongly thought he was dangerous to the company.

Sese said that his/her customer can ask for a solution to their problem.

Opumie is asking for N9 billion because he was arrested and treated badly for two years without food, medical care, or the ability to see his family. He wants the court to say that it was not legal for them to do this to him.
