Shehu Sani’s response to the PDP crisis is What Would Have Happened If Ayu Resigned Before the Elections

Even if Iyorchia Ayu, the party chairman, had resigned, according to Senator Shehu Sani, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would not have benefited from the results of the presidential election.
This was said in a tweet by a social media commentator in response to the current leadership crisis affecting the main opposition party.

In order to work for the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at least five governors who were elected under the PDP’s banner demanded Ayu’s resignation prior to the general elections.

The G-5 governors, who supported candidates from other parties during the just-concluded election, were formed as a result of Ayu’s refusal to resign.

Nyesom Wike, the leader of the G-5 and governor of the state of Rivers, praised his team for ensuring that Atiku lost the election, which Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ultimately won.

Shehu asserted in the tweet that if the G-5 had supported Atiku and cited their failure to win elections in their respective states, nothing would have changed.

wrote Sani.

“The truth is that even if Ayu had resigned before the election, little would have changed because those who opposed him were also fighting for survival and ultimately were unable to do much to help themselves.

Ayu encountered the group in the city of Sodom and did his best to guide them to the Gomorrah desert.
