Engineer and politician Uba Sani of Nigeria is the incoming governor of Kaduna State.
As of 2019, he was the senator representing Kaduna Central. On February 23, 2019, he was chosen to represent the All Progressive Congress in office. He defeated PRP senator Shehu Sani, who had been in office.
In the Kaduna State local government of Zaria, Uba Sani was born on December 31, 1970. He has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Abuja and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Calabar. He was trained as a Mechanical Engineer.
With his bravery and patriotism, Uba Sani protested against military authoritarianism in Nigeria. In order to build a strategic foundation for the pro-democracy movement in Northern Nigeria, he used his organizational and networking abilities.
He also made good use of his civil society organization, the Movement for Freedom and Justice, to promote the rights of the underprivileged and provide them with unrestricted access to justice. He held office as the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the Joint Action Committee (JACON), which was run by the illustrious Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN, and the National Vice Chairman (North) of the Campaign for Democracy (CD).
After democracy was restored in Nigeria in 1999, Sani entered politics and backed Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s bid for the presidency of the People’s Democratic Party. Sani was chosen to serve as the president’s special advisor on public affairs after winning the election.
Additionally, he performed advisory duties for the Kaduna State Ministry of Housing and Works and Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the former FCT Minister, at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
Sani ran in the People’s Democratic Party primaries in 2011 for the Kaduna Central Senatorial seat but lost. In 2015, the Kaduna state governor Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai appointed Sani as the Special Adviser, Political and intergovernmental affairs.
Sani, who belonged to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), however, showed interest in the Kaduna Central senatorial seat in 2019 and ran for the position a second time, winning the election in February of that year. For the 2023 Kaduna State governorship election, Uba Sani chose APC nomination papers in 2022.

In Kaduna State’s elections in 2023, Sani was chosen as the All Progressives Congress’s candidate for governor. He won the primary elections by defeating Sani Sha’aban and Bashir Abubakar. El-Rufai’s chosen candidate is thought to be Uba Sani.  .
