The Ogun State Police Command has detained a 43-year-old man named Abiodun Oladapo for allegedly impregnating his daughter, who is 19 years old.

This was revealed in a statement on Saturday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi.

According to Oyeyemi, the suspect was detained as a result of a complaint made at the Mowe Divisional Headquarters by one Oluwatoyin Idowu, who claimed that her son, Michael Idowu, had been falsely accused of having an unnatural relationship with the victim.

He spoke.
“Following an investigation, the victim, who is five months pregnant, told the police she had been the victim of her father’s sexual abuse since February 2022, and he had threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it.

She claims that after she became pregnant, her father pressed her to blame Michael Idowu for the pregnancy.

“After she confessed, the DPO of Mowe Division, SP Folake Afeniforo, sent detectives after the randy father, who was later detained.

The suspect admitted to the crime during questioning but said the devil was to blame.

“The suspect, who had been estranged from the victim’s mother for a long time, was granted custody of the girl when her mother got remarried, and they have been cohabitating ever since,” the preliminary investigation revealed. “.

Oyeyemi, however, claimed that Frank Mba, the commissioner of police, had ordered that the suspect be sent to the state criminal investigation department for additional research and potential prosecution.

Mba gave the public the assurance that the case would be fully investigated and that the suspect would be made to bear the consequences of his deeds.
