Obi reacts to alleged conversation with Oyedepo by saying that APC can’t stop being dishonest

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has charged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is funding disinformation campaigns against him.

In response to an alleged audio recording of a conversation between himself and David Oyedepo, Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), he said this.

According to the audio, Obi asked Bishop Oyedepo to organize church support for him on the eve of the presidential election.

The mischief planned by the people behind the tape can’t be carried out, according to Obi, who said as much in a statement released on Sunday from the head of the Obi Datti media office in Abuja.

He claimed that the Party was still sponsoring false information and propaganda and claimed that it was doing so because the APC wanted to remain in power.

The former governor of Anambra State, however, claimed that he is not discouraged and that he is still committed to using constitutional means to reclaim the mandate that Nigerians had granted him.

He claimed that, in contrast to the APC, which parades forged documents and even fake bishops, the Labour Party has consistently urged Nigerians to cast their votes without regard to their ethnicity, religion, or other sentiments.

He stated:.

“More than a month after snatching the election as planned, it appears the All Progressives Congress’ desperate attempt to seize and hold onto power through dubious means has persisted.

“While we are following the law to reclaim our mandate, those who have shortchanged the wishes of the majority of Nigerians have resorted to deceit and endless subterfuge to maintain their hold on something that is not rightfully theirs.

They have moved on from the humiliating performance in Portharcourt and the drama aboard the Ibom Air plane, both of which they engineered, to the dissemination of a convincingly fake audio file intended to incite religious conflict in the nation.

“All of these are intended to do nothing more than cause egregious mayhem in an effort to demarket Peter Obi. If the plan was to undermine credibility, it has been a resounding failure.

“Peter Obi is the only presidential candidate who has publicly urged Nigerian voters not to cast their ballots for him based on their religion or tribe.

As a result, we would like to urge the people of Nigeria to keep working hard to reclaim the mandate that, as far as we are aware, was freely granted to Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed by legal means.

“That is more significant than expecting those who ran for office using forged credentials and even fake bishops to cease acting falsely. Due to the nature of their fraud, they cannot stop. “
