A family source claims that the three-year-old perishes in the family’s private pool at their home in Lagos.
The family source spoke anonymously in order to await a formal announcement.
“The boy remained inside water for too long and they hauled him out and rushed him to the hospital,” the source added. It was already too late when they brought him to Lagoon Hospital.
A few days ago, before Ifeanyi passed away, Davido was observed instructing him in swimming.
Others, like former Big Brother Naija reality star Dorathy Bachor, expressed amazement at the news, while some of his fellow celebrities, like actress Eniola Badmus and serial entrepreneur Toyin Lawani, put the image of a broken heart emoji on their social media accounts before taking it down.
D’bánj lost his son in a similar manner years ago.
Four years ago, singer Dapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj lost his first kid in a situation remarkably similar to that of Ifeanyi’s death.
The child drowned at the pool in his father’s Ikoyi home when he was a little over a year old.
Ifeanyi, also known as David Adedeji Adeleke Jr., was born on November 4, 2019, a few weeks before the singer’s birthday.
When Davido’s fiancée Chioma was put to bed, he was getting ready to release his “A Good Time” record.
Many people are unwilling to take the harsh pill that is his dying.
Losing your child in such conditions only makes it more terrible. His death is painful.
God grant Davido and Chioma the fortitude to endure this terrible loss.
