Liverpool great Jamie Carragher rated Axel Disasi the ‘outstanding player’ in Chelsea’s 1-1 Premier League match with Manchester City on Saturday night.

Caragher compared Disasi to Chelsea star John Terry against Manchester City.

Raheem Sterling and Rodri’s goals guaranteed that both teams shared the points at the Etihad.

Meanwhile, Disasi and Levi Colwill began for the Blues against Pep Guardiola’s team at the heart of their defence.

The 25-year-old made a remarkable 16 clearances, three blocks, and won all four aerial duels.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said of Disasi: “That was a John Terry performance, and I can’t commend him enough.

“I cannot recall a stronger defensive effort this season, especially from a central defender.

“You’re going down to Manchester City and playing against the finest striker in the world; he was fantastic. He was Man of the Match, unquestionably the greatest player on the pitch.

“He was just throwing himself in front of everything.”
