Gbajabiamila said he does not have a preferred candidate for Speaker

Femi Gbajabiamila, who is the Speaker of the House of Representatives, stated that he does not have a favorite person for the leadership role in the Green Chambers.

Gbajabiamila shared this information on his official Twitter account on Thursday.

The Speaker said he did not support Tajudeen Abbas from Kaduna to replace him.

Do you remember when a report said that Gbajabiamila picked Abbas, a member of APC from Zaria federal constituency in Kaduna, to be the next speaker instead of Idris Wase, the current deputy speaker? The report said that he is not supporting other people who are competing for the same position.

Gbajabiamila said the report was not true. He told the people who want to be selected to wait until the APC decides where the position will go.

He said.
Hon. Deputy, on April 13, 2023, a newspaper wrote a front-page article saying I don’t support what my helper wants. “Mr./Ms.” Ahmed Idris Wase and some other people are hoping to become the Speaker in the 10th House.

I haven’t said that I support any of my coworkers who have shown that they want something. I have already stated that it’s important to wait for our Party to finish dividing the areas. I can’t do anything that goes against our Party’s beliefs and goals.

I became a candidate for APC because of their 2019 zoning plan, and I will stick to it whenever the party sets up a new plan. Anyone who spreads lies that I support any of the candidates should stop right away.

Gbajabiamila had a meeting with people who want to be in the fourth highest position in the country.

Some politicians from the APC party want to become the Speaker of the House. They are Wase, Yusuf Gagdi, Ben Kalu, Muktar Betara, Abubakar Makki, and Sada Soli.
