Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has levied allegations against a faction of President-elect Bola Tinubu’s followers of undermining the credibility of Rotimi Amaechi.

Eze purportedly asserted, in an effort to curry favor with Tinubu, that a group of “schemers” had engaged in a targeted campaign against the erstwhile governor and recently departed Minister of Transportation.

On Wednesday, a declaration was issued in which the speaker asserted that the supposition that the Rivers APC has been divided into divergent groups “lacks complete veracity.”

Eze levied an accusation against Tony Okocha, who identifies as the Coordinator for the South-South arm of the Bola Tinubu Vanguard, for disseminating erroneous information via social media platforms.

According to the speaker, Okocha has been asserting his leadership within the Rivers State APC through a recklessly made assertion that he was responsible for securing the victory of the APC Presidential candidate in the aforementioned state.

Eze expressed his curiosity as to Okocha’s presumption of leadership within a political party, despite lacking official membership and having previously opposed said party during the March 18 gubernatorial elections.

Amaechi and Eze have refuted accusations of engaging in anti-party conduct, asserting that such allegations are devoid of factual basis and are fabricated by individuals seeking to attain significance within the Tinubu faction.

The audience was advised by the speaker to direct their attention towards the unsettling state of affairs prevailing in Rivers, whereby a flagrant subversion of democratic principles was perpetrated by an individual who seeks perpetuation of power in a proxy capacity, thereby characterizing him as a person of disreputable and desperate disposition.
