Easter: The FG declares Monday and Friday a public holiday

To commemorate Easter in 2023, the Federal Government has proclaimed Friday, April 6, 2023, and Monday, April 7, 2023, as public holidays.

On Wednesday in Abuja, the Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, announced this.

Aregbesola allegedly urged Christians to imitate Jesus Christ’s qualities of selflessness, camaraderie, forgiveness, kindness, love, peace, and patience in a statement released on Wednesday and signed by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Shuaib Begore. These qualities were demonstrated by Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry.

The minister urged Christians and all Nigerians to use the occasion of the Easter holiday this year to pray for an end to the country’s security issues.

His words.
Security is a concern for everyone. As a result, I implore both Nigerians and foreigners living in our nation to show strong civic virtue and altruism by supporting the efforts of all security agencies to bring about peace and the security of citizens’ lives and property.

The minister gave the assurance that the Federal Government is taking all necessary steps to guarantee a peaceful transfer of power following the peaceful election process.

He also exhorts Christians to love their neighbors by performing deeds of kindness and showing generosity of spirit, with the wealthy sharing their possessions with those who are less fortunate around them. He wishes Christians at home and in the Diaspora a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.

Aregbesola reassures Nigerians once more that their country is steadfastly headed in the direction of greatness and exhorts everyone to use their creative energies constructively in order to fully realize the future prosperity.
