The chairman of the party, Chief Emeka Beke, and the legal adviser, Iheanyichukwu Azubuike, were suspended by the All Progressives Congress’ Rivers State Executive Committee on Wednesday due to alleged financial misconduct and anti-party activity.

Additionally, the SEC distanced itself from remarks purportedly made by the former minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi, according to which Bola Tinubu nominated Prof. Mahmood Yakubu as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission on his own.

On Wednesday, Chike Eyinda, a special leader of the party’s state executive committee, announced this while leading other members to a press conference in Port Harcourt.

Eyinda remarked that the party had suffered as a result of Beke and Amaechi’s activities over the previous couple of years, which culminated in the party’s poor performance in the recently held general election.

He stated.
Consequently, “We, the members of the State Executive Committee, resolve as follows: That Chef Emeka Beke, the chairman of the APC in Rivers State, is hereby suspended indefinitely for anti-party activities, gross misconduct, and financial mismanagement pending the findings of an independent committee of inquiry as may be established by the party.

“That with immediate effect, Mr.dot Omiete Eferebo, the deputy chairman takes over as acting chairman until the committee of inquiry’s report is completed.

“That Mr.dot Iheanyichukwu Azubuike, the party’s legal adviser, is also placed on leave pending the report of the committee of inquiry due to anti-party activities and financial mismanagement. “.

He added that since 2021, the Rivers APC had been on its knees thanks to the trio of Amaechi, Beke, and Azubuike.

declared Enyinda.
“These leaders are to blame for both the widespread exodus of party members and the defeats the party suffered in the state’s recently held general elections.

As evidence for this, Rt. Hon. A week before the presidential election, Amaechi, who ran for president but lost to Bola Tinubu in the primary, summoned the party’s leadership to a meeting and told every APC member in the state to support the PDP in the general election. This was done in active collusion with the state chairman and the legal adviser.

“That Mr.dot Iheanyichukwu Azubuike, the party’s legal counsel, is likewise suspended for anti-party activities and financial mismanagement pending the report of the committee of inquiry.

He added that the Rivers APC had been pinned to the ground since 2021 by the trio of Amaechi, Beke, and Azubuike.

Enyinda said.

Both the widespread exodus of party members and the defeats the party suffered in the state’s recent general elections can be attributed to these leaders.

“In order to prove this, Rt. Hon. A week before the presidential election, Amaechi, who ran for president and lost to Bola Tinubu in the primary, called a meeting of the party’s leadership and ordered all of the APC members in the state to support the PDP in the general election.
